Khan Family Childcare is devoted to the care and education for children of any
age in a caring and loving environment. We also strive to enhance the
physical, emotional, and cognitive growth of each and every child.

We do our very best to take care of your child and show them that they are very
important and loved. Your child’s day will be filled with many fun activities not
only socially intellectually, emotionally but physically as well. My job as a
childcare provider is to offer families peace of mind and a loving atmosphere
where children feel safe and secure, learn to trust their environment, make
friends and to feel part of a group.

We are committed to providing a family oriented environment for your child.

Doctor’s Surgery Dramatic Play (9 photos)

Today we included a play area in the classroom with doctor-related items. The
kids pretend they work in the medical field. We set up a child-sized clinic for
doctor-themed activities. A low table worked well as the exam table. Included
props such as clipboards, tongue depressors, chairs lined up in a pretend
waiting room and a toy doctor kit. The kids can played the roles of patients,
doctors and other clinic staff. This gave the kids a chance to apply what they
already know about doctors into their play -- some fun creating a doctor’s
surgery for dramatic/ role-play!
First patient was Izaan who was VERY hot, until he became “warmer”
and was then, thankfully, much better! Thanks to Dr. Nathan
We also added in a box of plasters, some stretchy bandages, a
medicine spoon, a box for herbal medicine and a medicine syringe. I
think REAL materials (where available and safe) are far superior to
toys, as so much more learning takes place.
Then the casualties just rolled into the surgery, one after another, all
with some fairly bizarre and/or catastrophic injuries!
Most seemed to have fallen and hurt their knees or legs, and about
95% of all complaints were solved with the aid of a plaster.
And puppy needed to have a stethoscope applied to his head to
“listen for things that are wrong” inside it. Later on there was a
patient with “broken eyebrows” and “hurting hair”, which both
sounded pretty serious! It reminds me how little experience with real
illness or injury they have encountered so far, thankfully, so for now
we can be thrilled that these are the worst things that could happen!
Bunny had a temperature and needed some medicine and a lie
down. Soon, he was joined by a literal heap of fellow patients all
clamouring for Doctor Cyana's attention.
We learned to show care and concern for others through play and in
real life situations
There was lots of new vocabulary introduced and worked into the
play, including patient, stethoscope, reflexes, thermometer,
bandage and recover. Great for language and literacy development!

Congratulations to the 4 year old princess Malia! On your
special b-day you can enjoy yourself today as a great queen.
Wishing lots of fun for you and your friends!
This Halloween was our best yet. The kids were old enough to
get into the spirit of trick-or-treating and parties... without
getting too spooked. Their costumes were a hit, and we're
already thinking of ideas for next year. The candy is long
gone but scary good memories remain. Hope your night is
wicked fun, too!
It's that spooky, fun time of year when little boys and ghouls
enjoy eating sugary sweets and dressing up in their cutest
or scariest Halloween costumes.

Parents: You have a chance to win 5 tickets to Six Flags,
winner will be announced this Friday evening.
This is your special day. Every second today is for you.
After all, it’s your birthday, so let’s hear you roar, I’m 4, I’m
4 and I’m 3 no more! Happy 4th birthday Cyana!

Teaching your kids about world cultures helps them appreciate the
differences in people and their traditions. When kids learn about other
cultures, it helps them understand and feel engaged in the world. They
become interested in how other people live, their cultural norms and
values, different religions and languages. It also helps them see the
beauty of different cultures and appreciate the differences and
similarities in how we and others live.

Parents: Thank you for snacks and having your child participate in
this event. We learned so much about each other today. It was perfect.
One, Two and now your Three
